Popular and tremendously versatile multi-purpose dense evergreen with small rounded dark-green aesthetic leaves provides a compact, rounded shape shrub produces white flowers in Spring, and black berries* from Fall to Winter for birds. Ideal for hedges, foundation, container, or walkways. *Both female and male needed nearby to produce the petite black berries. Regardless of the gender, the white flowers bloom every Spring. | Planting-General | Dig hole the size of the root ball deep and 3 times wide as the root ball. Likes well drained rich organic soil that is slightly acidic. Mulch to prevent soil from drying out or getting too hot. Mulch about 2 to 3 inches deep at all times. |
| Planting-Spacing | Plant 3 feet apart for tight hedge, center to center. |
| Watering | Regular watering schedule during first growing season to establish deep roots. More often in extreme heat or containers. Its roots do not like wet soil. Can add Root Stimulation which helps early root development and strengths roots, as well as, reduces plant shock. |
| Fertilizing | Feed with acid fertilizer in early Spring, and late Summer. Keep roots cool with a layer of mulch to retain moisture during heat of Summer and colder months of Winter. |
