Attractive fast growing large evergreen with very shinny foliage offering very attractive dark green, burgundy, orange and red colors on its bushy dense upright shape and narrow leaves. Produces small fragrant white flowers bloom in Spring, and  red berries in the Fall giving birds food and you enjoyment watching them. And offers a great option to disease prone Red Tip Photinia. Also know as Japanese Ternstroemia. Ideal for accent, frame corners, foundation, hedge, borders, privacy screen, and can be shaped into a small tree for a specimen. Specifications below. Planting-General Likes sand, loam, silt and clay (amended to ensure good drainage) soil. Well drained moist to dry once established. Likes slight acidic soil. 
Planting-Spacing Plant 5 Feet apart center to center for hedge, or 9-10 Feet apart center to center for shrub border.
Watering Average, low once established. Can add Root Stimulation which helps early root development and strengths roots, as well as, reduces plant shock when planting.
Fertilizing Feed in spring before new growth begins with slow release fertilize for shrubs & trees. 
Pruning Not required. Prune after flowering to maintain shape. 
Deer Deer do not favor their taste. If in a high deer area, spray every 3 to 6 months with deer repellent.
Flowers

Fragrant small white flowers in late spring. Red berries in the fall for the birds.
