Special Features Privacy screen, drought tolerant, disease and insect resistant, easy to grow, very adaptable, and deer resistant.

Growth Rate Fast, up to 3Ft. per year once established
Sun Full Sun – Part Shade. Needs at least 4 hours of direct, unfiltered sunlight per day.
Height 40-60Ft.
Width 10-15Ft.
Planting-General Dig hole 3 times wide and 3 times deep as the root ball. Grows in a wide range of soil types. Likes well-drained soil. Avoid compact or soggy soil. Soggy soil can cause root rot. Like slightly acidic to moderately alkaline soil, 6.5 to 8.0 pH level.
Planting-Spacing For tight hedge, plant 5 feet from each other and other structures. Spacing them 8 to 10 feet apart is recommended for areas with more room, center to center, and will still provide privacy and height.
Watering For first 2 weeks, water every other day with hose counting to 20. Second 2 weeks, switch to every 3 days with same method. After first month, water once per week unless dray and hot (no rain and temperature above 80 degrees. If hot and dray, water 2 times a week. After 6 months, its established and natural rainfall should sufficient. Can add Root Stimulation which helps early root development and strengths roots, as well as, reduces plant shock.
Fertilizing Feed with a balanced evergreen tree and shrub fertilizer starting in the Spring. Likes nitrogen-rich fertilizer. Slow release types are fine.
Pruning No need to prune, if growing with enough space to maintain its natural graceful pyramid shape. If growing several close together as a hedge, you can shear yearly after the final frost. Use clean shears making symmetrical 45 degree angle cuts in the Fall. Always use clean shears to avoid possibly spreading diseases.
Deer Deer do not favor their taste. If in a high deer area, spray every 3 to 6 months with deer repellent.
