| Planting-General | Likes sand (amended), loam, silt and clay (amended) soil. Well drained moist. Soil pH range 4.5 to 7.5. Acidic to slightly alkaline. |
| Planting-Spacing | Plant 6 Feet apart for solid hedge, 14 Feet plus for space between trees. |
| Watering | Average, low once established. Can add Root Stimulation which helps early root development and strengths roots, as well as, reduces plant shock when planting. |
| Fertilizing | Feed in early spring before new growth begins with slow release fertilize for shrubs & trees. |
| Pruning | Not required. Remove damaged, congested or crossing branches as needed. Only prune after flower have bloomed during the growing season, as they do not heal when dormant. Older leaves drop during late spring and summer which is normal. |
| Deer | Deer do not favor their taste. If in a high deer area, spray every 3 to 6 months with deer repellent. |
