Fastest growing and very dependable of all the tall hollies. Produces bright red berries in the fall and all the way through winter for various birds to enjoy. Small white flowers appear in the spring among its dense pyramid dark blue-green leaves. Cardinals eat the red berries, and the berries give the males their red color. The white flowers attracts pollinators. Perfect selection for privacy screen, focal point specimen, border, or as an anchor in a wooded garden. Great for an outdoor Christmas tree. | Planting-General | Dig hole the size of the root ball deep and 3 times wide as the root ball. Likes clay, loam, sand, and silt soil. Moist to well drained soil. Soil pH range 5.5 to 6.5, thus acidic soil. Mulch to prevent soil from drying out or getting too hot. Mulch about 2 to 3 inches deep at all times. |

| Watering | Average to Low once established. Regular watering schedule during first growing season to establish deep roots. More often in extreme heat or containers. Its roots do not like wet soil.
