Award winning wide dark green center and pure white margins leaves, perennial forms dense, arching mound with, Funnel-shaped pale lavender 2 inch wide flowers bloom early to late Summer that attract Hummingbirds and Butterflies. Will practically grow in the dark. Thus, great for planting under large shade trees. Great for paths, gardens, boarders, containers, accent, groupings, massed as a groundcover, and landscape border. Special Features Low maintenance, rabbit, heat, insect, disease, and drought resistant. Shade and humidity tolerant. Attracts butterflies and hummingbirds. It will tolerate full sun with adequate moisture.

Sun Full Sun, Full Shade, Part Shade.  No direct afternoon sunlight.
Height 1-2Ft.
Width 4-5Ft.
Planting-General Align top edge of the root ball is slightly above ground level to allow for settling. Likes well-drained, moist soil and clay (amended), loam, silt and sand soil. Likes acid to slightly Alkaline. Soil Ph range of 5.5 to 7.5. Mulch to prevent soil from drying out or getting too hot.
Planting-Spacing Plant 24 to 30 inches for mass planting, and 48 inches apart between each plant, center to center.
Watering Average water needs. Regular watering schedule during first growing season to establish deep roots. If planted in Fall, or Winter, water once every week or two. Planted in growing season, water every day or two for 3 or 4 months. If hot dray spell, water everyday for the first 3 to 4 months. More often in extreme heat or containers. Can add Root Stimulation which helps early root development and strengths roots, as well as, reduces plant shock.
Fertilizing Feed with acidic to slightly alkaline fertilizer in early Spring when leaves appear. Keep roots cool with thick layer of mulch to retain moisture during heat of Summer and colder months of Winter.
Pruning Not applicable. Do remove spent flower stems, and damaged or deal leaves. Once dormant, remove dead foliage.
Deer Deer do favor hostas, but the Patriot is less desirable. If in a high deer area, spray every 3 to 6 months with deer repellent.
Flowers

Beautiful funnel-shaped pale lavender 2 inch flower blooms mid to late Summer.
