This vigorous carpet forming evergreen perennial provides a dense mat of glossy rich dark green foliage up to 4-6" tall, and produces 1.0" lavender-blue pinwheel shaped single flowers in Spring, that attracts butterflies. Spreads 3Ft. or more and fast growing. Making it the most popular, and widely used ground cover. Perfect selection for ground cover, steep banks, slopes to control erosion, superb for suppressing weeds. Planting under shrubs, and under tree canopies, as well as beds, borders, home foundations. Special Features Excellent ground cover, and superb for suppressing weeds. Forms a dense carpet of glossary rich dark green foliage, and produces 1.0" lavender-blue pinwheel shaped single flowers in Spring. Attracts butterflies. Low maintenance, and hardy. Disease, heat, humidity, insect, and deer resistance. Tolerates dry soil, drought, and heavy shade.

Growth Rate Fast. About 3" to 6" per year.
Sun Full Sun to Part Shade. Tolerates close to Full Shade, but flowers best in Full Sun.

Planting-General Likes clay, loam, sand, and silt. Moist but well drained. Soil pH 6.0-6.5 range. Likes acid, alkaline, or neutral soil. Its happy in all three types of pH soil.
Planting-Spacing Plant 3" to 6" apart for spacing between plants.
Watering Low once established. Can add Root Stimulation which helps early root development and strengths roots, as well as, reduces plant shock.
Fertilizing Low. Apply early Spring when needed. Too much produces more leaves at the expense of its flowers.
Pruning Prune early Spring to control aggressive growth, and encourage a fuller shape.
Deer Deer do not favor their taste. If in a high deer area, spray every 3 to 6 months with deer repellent.
