This clump-forming, fine-foliage deciduous perennial adds an unique texture to any landscape with late season color with plumes of striking pink haze a top the dark green foliage reaching 2Ft. to 3Ft. tall swaying in the breeze. Similar to cotton candy. After many weeks of showy color it gradually changes to light tan for even more viewing enjoyment. Great for costal locations since it is salt tolerant. Special Features Low maintenance, and hardy. Drought, heat, dry soil, humidity, erosion, poor soil, deer and salt tolerant. Great for costal locations since it is salt tolerant. Attracts butterflies. Songbirds eat the seeds. Excellent cover year round. No serious insects or disease issues.

Planting-General Likes clay, loam (silt), sand, and shallow rocky soil. Moist but well drained. Soil pH <6.0, >8.0, and 6.0 to 8.0. Likes acid, alkaline, or neutral soil. Its happy in all three types of pH soil.
Planting-Spacing Plant 3Ft. to 6Ft.apart for spacing between plants.
Watering Low to average once established. Can add Root Stimulation which helps early root development and strengths roots, as well as, reduces plant shock.
Fertilizing Not required. Too much nitrogen can actually hurt the plant. Best to perform a soil test to see if any is needed. 
Pruning Recommended trimming back close to the ground, say 6" above the crown, once the grass turns brown in late winter, or early spring.
Deer Deer do not favor their taste. If in a high deer area, spray every 3 to 6 months with deer repellent.
Flowers

Soft pink or pinkish red fuzzy flowers in the fall.
