Incredibly attractive 4" wide fully double/peony red flowers bloom from late Winter to early Spring. Provides an upright bushy structure with dark green, evergreen foliage. It brings sophisticated color to your landscape when it is needed the most. Making it a beautiful ornamental visual standout. Its numerous flowers are the main attraction over Winter. This low maintenance shrub, is also resistant to deer, drought, heat and humidity. Special Features Extremely attractive large 4" wide fully double/peony red flowers from late Winter to early Spring, unlike most other shrubs. Deer, drought (when established), heat, humidity resistant. Low maintenance.

Growth Rate Moderate, 1-1.5Ft. per year
Sun Part Sun – Part Shade. Morning Sun with afternoon shade or filtered Sun, or all day filtered Sun. Avoid afternoon Sun to prevent leaf scorch.
Height 8-15Ft.
Width 5-8Ft.
Planting-General Dig hole 2-3 times wide and1times deep as the root ball. Likes various soil types. Likes loam, clay (amended), sand (amended), and silt. Likes moist but well drained soil. Soil pH range is 5.0-6.5, thus acidic soil. Fine to add some 1-2” of mulch, or 3-4” pine straw to conserve moisture and suppress weeds. 
Planting-Spacing Plant 5-6Ft. apart for tight solid hedge or screen, center to center. 12Ft. or more apart between shrubs, center to center for more space.
Watering Average, low once established. Regular watering schedule during first growing season to establish deep roots. More often in extreme heat, or containers. Its roots do not like wet soil. Can add Root Stimulation which helps early root development and strengths roots, as well as, reduces plant shock.
Fertilizing Feed with acid fertilizer in the Spring. Keep roots cool with a layer of mulch to retain moisture during heat of Summer and colder months of Winter.
Pruning Prune after flowering in the Spring. Do not over prune. Prune to maintain shape, remove dead or weak branches.  Always use clean shears to avoid possibly spreading diseases.
Deer Deer do not favor their taste. If in a high deer area, spray every 3 to 6 months with deer repellent.
