| Planting-General | Likes clay (amended) , loam, sand (amended), silt soil. Well drained to somewhat dry soil. Soil pH in the 5.5-7.5 range. Perform best is slightly acidic soil. |
| Planting-Spacing | Plant 2.5-3 Feet for solid hedges, and same distance from your house if using as foundation plant. And 7 Feet or more apart for spacing between plants. Dig holes 2 to 3 times the width of the root ball. Align top of root ball to ground. Add mulch to conserve moisture. |
| Watering | Average, low once established. Water regularly until well established. Can add Root Stimulation which helps early root development and strengths roots, as well as, reduces plant shock. |
| Fertilizing | Feed in spring with slow release fertilize for shrubs & trees. Do not fertilize after two weeks to the average first frost to avoid early frost damage. |
| Pruning | Not required. Recommended shearing to maintain desired shape in spring. They do response well to shaping to form hedges. |
